New appointments in key businesses at AXA

AXA announces the following leadership appointments:

Patric Deflorin is appointed Chief Executive Officer of AXA Switzerland.

Patric joined AXA Switzerland in April 2025 as Chief Distribution Officer and member of the AXA Switzerland Executive Committee. Prior to joining AXA, he spent 12 years at Die Mobiliar, a leading Swiss insurance company, where he held ExCom-level positions overseeing insurance and market management teams. Patric’s broad experience in all insurance areas, deep knowledge of the Swiss market, customer-first mindset, and proven leadership will be instrumental in continuing to drive a market-leading organization that delivers strong growth, top customer satisfaction and tech led innovation. Patric will succeed Fabrizio Petrillo, who has decided to pursue a new chapter after a distinguished 16-year journey with AXA Switzerland.

Alain Zweibrucker is appointed Chief Executive Officer of AXA’s Health business.

Alain has been CEO of AXA UK Retail and a member of the AXA UK Executive Committee since January 2024. Prior to that, he served as CFO of AXA Switzerland and has also been part of the Executive Committee at AXA Germany as Head of P&C Retail and Chief Risk Officer. With his strong international background, deep business expertise and exemplary ability to deliver transformations swiftly, Alain is ideally placed to build on our business momentum in Health and advance our ambition to become a leading global health specialist. He will succeed Nils Reich, who has decided to embark on a new career opportunity outside of AXA after two years as CEO, in which he successfully built and launched our Health strategy alongside the leadership team.

Biographies

Patric Deflorin

Patric Deflorin holds degrees from the University of St. Gallen, Vlerick Business School, HEC Montreal, and INSEAD in Singapore. He began his 26-year career in the insurance industry at Zurich Insurance Group, where he held various executive roles from 2006 to 2012, including CFO Direct & Partnership Europe and Head of Zurich Connect. In 2012, he joined Die Mobiliar, initially as Head of Personal Lines P&C, followed by executive roles Head of Insurance from 2015 to 2021 and Head of Market Management for four years. Since April 2025, Patric has been serving as Head of Distribution and a member of the Executive Committee for AXA Switzerland.

Alain Zweibrucker

Alain Zweibrucker graduated in actuarial science from the University of Strasbourg. His 27-year career at AXA has taken him across Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK and a variety of functions Finance, Business and Risk. He began his career at AXA Germany in 2002 as an Accounting Director, progressing through roles such as Head of Controlling until 2013. In 2013, he joined the Executive Committee as Chief Risk Offer and later served as Head of P&C Retail. In 2016, Alain was appointed CFO of AXA Switzerland and member of the Swiss Executive Committee, a position he held until 2023. Since 2024, he has been serving as CEO of AXA UK Retail and member of the Executive Committee of AXA UK & Ireland.
