The AXA Group is committed to regularly and transparently report on its progress with regards to sustainability topics through various public disclosures, supplementing the information already available in the section ‘Sustainability’ of axa.com website.
The AXA Group’s sustainability strategy is described in the 2022 Annual Report (Universal Registration Document), which includes an extra-financial performance statement (déclaration de performance extra-financière) that AXA publishes in accordance with the provisions of Directive 2014/95/UE of the European Parliament and of the Council of October 22, 2014 and Articles L. 225-102-1, R. 225-105 and R. 225-105-1 of the French Commercial Code (Code de commerce). This statement includes the business model of the AXA Group and information with respect to its main extra-financial risks related to environmental, employer responsibility, society, human rights, tax evasion and corruption matters.
Since 2016, the AXA Group publishes a yearly Climate Report describing its current climate strategy and new developments, in line with mandatory disclosure requirements pursuant to Article L. 533-22-1 of the French Monetary and Financial Code (Code monétaire et financier), as amended by Article 173 (VI) of Law No. 2015-992 of August 17, 2015 relating to Energy Transition for Green Growth, and Article D. 533-16-1 of the French Monetary and Financial Code, which are generally referred to as Article 173
and addresses Environmental, as well as Social and Governance (ESG) issues, and the voluntary disclosure recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), which focus exclusively on Climate-related factors.
Additional information on sustainability related policies and practices of the AXA Group is available in the 2022 Integrated Report, in which the AXA Group has reported on its contribution to sustainability every year since 2016, including transparent indicators of its financial and extra-financial impact. This integrated reporting approach is inspired by the International Integrated Reporting Framework. Finally, the AXA Group has prepared the SASB Insurance Standard-Content Index 2021 referencing the content of its public disclosures to the metrics relevant to the insurance industry according to the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). The SASB is an independent organization that sets sector specific disclosure standards across financially material environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics.
