2024 New AXA Compliance & Ethics Code

In 2024, AXA has updated its Compliance & Ethics Code.

As a group CEO I want to readdress the importance of ethics and compliance here at AXA. At AXA, we have a strong purpose act for human progress by protecting what matters, and we are guided by common values such as putting the customer first, integrity, courage, and the spirit of one AXA. Today, I'm pleased to announce that we have updated our Compliance and Ethics Code, which highlights our ethical and compliance principles. Taking the opportunity of the recent update of the code, I'd like to personally reaffirm my commitment to following the requirements of our Compliance and Ethics Code.

At AXA, we have a long history of commitment to strong professional ethics. In 2004, we launched the Compliance and Ethics Code, setting out what's expected from each of us. The Code has been updated a few times with the last update in 2018 and this year we've refreshed it again.

At AXA, our core purpose is centred around protecting people, their assets and their businesses. We strive to leverage our skills, resources and risk expertise to contribute to building a stronger and safer society. This includes protecting human rights as well as addressing climate risks through our core insurance and investment activities.

Who does the Code apply to?

The AXA Compliance & Ethics Code is applicable to all AXA employees anywhere across the Group. The Code provides with a clear guidance on what AXA employees should know and do. At AXA, we seek to work with business partners and others who share our values and standards and expect them to behave consistently with the provisions in the Code.

What is new in the Code?

AXA has reinforced its existing ethical and compliance commitments in various areas such as customer protection, the prevention of conflicts of interest as well as anti-bribery and corruption. A new section around the environment and human rights has also been introduced.

What are the topics covered by the Code?

The AXA Compliance & Ethics Code is used to conduct our activities and reflects our engagement on a wide range of topics including but not limited to:

  • Prevention of Conflicts of Interest
  • Prevention of Bribery and Corruption
  • Prevention of Money laundering, Financing of Terrorism and breaching of International Sanctions
  • Treating Customers fairly and professionally
  • Protection and responsible use of Personal Data
  • Prevention of Discrimination and Harassment
  • Protection of Environment and Human Rights
